First Remix from JUGGERNAUT album Set to Hit Clubs and Charts
RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif.; May. 28, 2010 – Pop/R&B artist Krys Justice’s much anticipated first remix from his debut album “JUGGERNAUT” was released for DJ Pool, radio play and iTunes and Amazon download today.
“All Night Long has had great reaction from fans around the world so when we were talking about which should be the first remix it just felt right,” says Justice. “I wanted to take the song in a different direction than the original, so with All Night Long (Stratman Remix) we upped the beat even more and took it even more to the Electro/Dance feel.”
Album executive producer Grant Wright added, “Stratman did a great job with the final mix and master of the original song and Juggernaut album, so it was natural to give him the opportunity to do a different take on All Night Long. He’s a great producer, did a fantastic job on the remix, and I’m excited he and Krys are already exchanging ideas for possible remixes of other Krys Justice songs as well as new songs Krys is currently writing.”
In 2010 All Night Long (original) appeared on the nation’s number one record pool Top 40 Crossover Chart and reached # 21 of the Top 40 Urban Chart at Starfleet Music whose members are comprised of more than 6,000 of the world’s best club, mixshow and Billboard DJs. In combination with CTTC (Cut To The Chase) that reached # 1 bumping out Jay Sean’s Down backed by L’il Wayne’s Cash Money Records in February, Justice held into the Top 40 chart for three months. “In releasing the new remix to DJs worldwide, it was important to us that Starfleet had it first,” said Wright. “Starfleet has been voted #1 four years straight as the record pool leader with its amazing music and DJS, and it’s just fitting that Starfleet is bringing Krys to DJs worldwide.”
Wright also noted that the only DJ provided with an advance of the track was KJ team member DJ Noel. “Who else?” laughed Wright. “When Krys performs live with his dancers and DJ Noel backing him it’s just a great show. DJ Noel’s the best there is in the country. He knows great music and how to read his audience like no other. He’s just a great guy to have on the team.”
With the Juggernaut album now available on iTunes, Amazon and other sites, and the CD released exclusively through Amazon in February, another track, This Life, also achieved industry recognition with its nomination for a Hollywood Music in Media Award in the R&B category. The HMMAs took place Nov. 19 at The Highlands in the world famous Hollywood & Highlands / Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood and was televised in 17 countries.
Justice was also honored to be public voted a Top 5 Finalist for Entertainer of the Year at the InfluenceSD Awards in April where he also performed the entire preshow (click for video) to a sold out audience and tens of thousands online viewers. “That was a fun show,” says Justice. “It was an honor to be voted a Finalist, and Anthology, that hosted artists like Melissa Etheridge and Michael Bublé in the weeks before my performing there, is such an amazing venue for an artist to perform.”
Justice was also on Fox 5 Morning News and the red carpet alongside Magic Johnson for the grand opening of R&B Live in Hollywood (click for video) in April; seated behind the Top 10 Finalists attending the Semi-Final live show in May of American Idol, the last for Simon Cowell at CBS Studios in Hollywood; and is featured in the June/July edition of Complete Woman magazine on newsstands nationwide.
JUGGERNAUT is a fitting title for a life and musical talent that’s needed the power of a juggernaut to advance and break through. Justice grew up in Southern California and mastered music and athletics at an early age. But just as he was ready to make his mark in this world, a series of personal setbacks took him off track.
A chance meeting with his eventual Krys Justice Entertainment partners helped Justice find the stability to continue his musical career and to return to college. Justice began writing, composing and recording “Not Stoppin’,” the first single of what would become JUGGERNAUT in between full-time work, evening college classes, work-outs and hitting the clubs. The song, which describes the Southern California nightlife, is also a mantra that motivated Justice to continue releasing his creativity, exploring his vocal talents, and mastering the production techniques he needed to write, perform and produce every track on JUGGERNAUT.
“This Life,” “Dream Your Life Away” and “JUGGERNAUT” are introspective tracks, with “This Life” focusing on life’s biggest question: why are we here? “Dream Your Life Away” takes on the obstacles that doubters and haters put in our way. And “JUGGERNAUT” is a powerful reflection on overcoming personal adversity and believing in yourself.
“CTTC (Cut to the Chase),” “Not Stoppin’,” “All Night Long,” “Where We At,” “Ridic,” and “Kodak Moment” are songs with infectious hooks and dance beats all featuring Justice’s strong vocals and harmonies. An accomplished musician with background playing guitar, bass, saxophone, piano, and nine other instruments, Justice’s comfort with musical styles and instruments shows in his creative arrangements featuring piano, horns, bells, strings, and even pan flute.
"All my songs are drawn from my own experience, but they're part of who I am and I want my fans to know me," Justice says. "I really just try to write what I'd like to hear when I go out or turn on the radio."
With a strong and growing online radio presence, Krys has fans reaching out to him from nearly every country in the world. “It’s amazing to know my music is connecting with people in places like Nigeria, Poland, Slovakia, Japan, the UK, Italy, and Brazil let alone all over the US and Canada. Music really is our common language,” he says. “It just motivates me to want to go to every one of those countries to do a show and meet my fans.”
Justice grew up listening to pop, hip hop, rock and rap, but the music that moved him most was from the original Motown and classic R&B movement. Always an admirer of the harmonies and hooks of that era’s sound, Justice is inspired by the courage of its stars who broke new ground musically and culturally.
