Anthony Harrell Bio:
The story of Anthony Harrell is one that cannot exist without music, he has been singing since he could speak. With a family lineage of musical gifts you can say it’s in his blood. Growing up with the musical influence of his father Grady Harrell Sr. who is a professional musician he began singing in a group called “Papas Results” at the age of 14 with his eldest brother & his cousin. He & his brother went on as a duo titled ”The Nade” landing a deal at Aftermath under Dr.Dre . Though the label served as a wonderful institute for learning, it didn’t take the guys where they wanted to go there for The Nade opted to move on to Elecktra Music. Elecktra was a better home for R&B but corporately the label had issues beyond their control leaving The Nade on the hunt again.
Anthony having an uncontrollable desire to entertain had since discovered another love. Acting! After doing Kids incorporated & tons of commercials he decided it was time to expand, & that he did landing a leading role as Eric in the hit sitcom “Saved By The Bell: The New Class”. The show was a success running for 4 seasons. Still the desire to sing was something he could not tame prompting Anthony to go at it again, this time he would not be with 1 brother but 4!
Teaming back up with his older brother , bringing in his 3 younger brothers they created the super R&B group “Brutha” which had a sound so smooth it easily landed them in comparison with the greats. After landing an audition with Def Jam Records executive Shakir Stewart he signed them on the spot & the guys went to work with no hesitation creating a signature sound with the greatest producers & songwriters the industry had to offer. With a hit album on the way the brothers decided to let their fans in closer by sharing the most intimate parts of their lives on one of the top rated reality shows in BET history “From Brothers to Brutha”. With success under his wings it would seem as if Anthonys desire had finally found satisfaction, that is until the untimely death of their business partner & friend Shakir Stewart. Though the guys found strength to pull it together & create an extremely great follow up to their first album (which remains unreleased) creative differences arose between the brothers, making it time to move on.
With a will that won’t see defeat & musical experience beyond his years Anthony dusted off & came right back. With a story to tell that can write a best selling novel or better yet sell out a theater but his first instinct was to put it in a song giving you his solo debut “Kathy” named after his lovely wife. Kathy genuinely showcases Anthony as the triple threat that he so naturally is: singer-songwriter-producer. With flirty tunes such as “Say Hello”, beautiful odes to love like “Love Is”, and pleas for understanding in “Don’t Make Me Say Goodbye”, this song arrangement is the quintessential soundtrack to the journey of finding the imperfect yet perfect love. Without the help of a record label, manager, or publicist, Anthony poured his heart and soul into creating this seemingly effortless piece of art. He simply asks that everyone “enjoy and pass it on to a friend”. Strap in for the ride. Musical paradise is the destination & he will indeed take you there.
